What is Chic and how to look Chic
What Is Chic?
According to Wikipedia, Chic is a word originated from the French word "chicanery" or the German word "Schick" (skill). In the Oxford English Dictionary, it means "stylishness and elegance, typically of a specified kind." It's a word used to describe fashion style or home decor. Some people say it's something you born with and can not learn. Some people say it's overused to a point that it's just another version of cool. It seems ambiguous and it may be one of the words we use without really understand it.
When it comes to style, I also have a unique comprehension of the word Chic - it's 60% of your best effort. Not your pajama legging gym look or your high heal plus gown prom look. It's a stylish look that put together effortlessly and even with a bit laziness.
5 Tips To Look Chic Instantly
1. Keep The Cloth Simple And Focus On The Bag And Shoes
This is my best strategy to look chic. For the cloth part, I often choose something easy to wear and I'm the most comfortable in. The T-shirt and jeans combination is my favorite. And put all my effort (and money) towards the accessories. You definitely don't need a luxury bag or expensive shoes to look chic but good quality is the key here. Choose something you really love that represent your taste and style.

2. Show Some Skin At The Right Places
Shoulders and ankles are the chic places to show. Try an off the shoulder top rather than a low cut shirt. A pair of cropped jeans rather than a mini skirt. Of course, you can always go for a sexier chic look by showing off your best features but it's the best not to show both cleavage and legs at the same time - that's 100% effort and you want to save it for a special occasion.
3. Natural Hair And Makeup
These are the parts you can show some laziness. I normally don't do much to my hair anyway and a top knot is my go-to hairstyle. No makeup is ultra chic but I do need some help with my crazy eyebrows. So I love a thick brow and no eye makeup look - you are going to wear sunglasses anyway. Have I not told you? These sunglasses are surgically attached to my face. Also, red lips never hurt.
4. Pay Attention To Details
Wear at least one piece of jewelry. I love to pair a statement necklace with a few dainty barely-there earrings. Recently I like to style my handbags with a bandana to give them a personal touch. Another essential part of the chic style is actually your scent. I've never talked about my perfume choices before because my options are boring. I generally wear Chanel Coco Mademoiselle or Chloe Eau De. I've been into these two fragrances for years. I know they are universally perfumes but I haven't found a unique scent I really enjoy. Some recommendations would be appreciated.
5. Just Be Yourself
The key to looking chic is the effortlessness. So just embrace your own style and give it a 60% effort.
